Hip-Hop is in the Building was a networking event thrown by Hamilton hip-hop promoters Beat Binjaz. It was an incredible evening where many diverse members of the hip-hop community in Hamilton and Southern, Ontario, Canada came together.
I had a lot of fun at this hip-hop networking event. I was able to connect with a lot of artists, hip-hop fans, businesses, outreach programs, and the like. I have already aired one of the interviews I did that night. It was a pleasure talking to Junia T of Smash Brovaz. If you missed that episode, you can go back and listen to it later.
Right now, you need to press play and listen to this hour long radio special about the event.
In this episode, I talk to a veteran in the Hamilton Music Scene, Lee Reed, and play some of his great music. Lee Reed was featured on the cover of View Magazine this week – the free entertainment magazine you can pick up at record stores and in street boxes downtown. If you didn’t cop that issue, you can read the article online.
I also talk to the ambassador of Hamilton hip-hop, Eklipz and play some music from his group Crown-A-Thornz. We have featured Eklipz on The Word is Bond several times. He used to host the Live-N-Direct radio show along with DJ Realistic Saturday nights on CFMU. He is a man of many talents. He is an amazing visual artist, graf writer, and emcee. It was a pleasure to finally get to interview him for the radio show and podcast.
The event was so successful that the Beat Binjaz will be throwing a second one on June 22nd. I will have more details about that soon. I hope to see you there.
Congratulations to Mizz Devine B for winning the CD Prize Pack we gave away on the podcast two weeks ago. I hope you enjoy the tunes.
