Welcome back to another brilliant edition of our Top 5 submissions for the week. This time around, we decided to do a showcase on the backbone of Hip-Hop. The individuals who take time out to craft those soulful, luscious backdrops for rappers to paint their verbal narratives over. On here we got cats from LA to Japan and even got 2 female beatsmiths to boot.

Without taking much of your precious time. Jump into the fray and keep the comments flowing.

Abassylar – 12AM

This Toronto native who goes by the moniker Abassylar caught my ears with her dreamy, futuristic soundscapes layered over trap drums. Her beats are moody with a dash of sombre elements in them.

Waterchild & Moodsmith –All Day

Straight out of Nashville, 2 producers join forces to bring us this absolutely delightful instrumental titled All Day. The 2 suspects are Waterchild & Moodsmith and they both craft a blend of vocal samples, head nodding syncopated drums and ethereal instrumentation on this one.

Waterchild & Moodsmith just released their debut collaborative track ‘All Day’, a jazzy hip hop beat with a classic vinyl sampled feel inspired by the greats like J Dilla and Nujabes.

Check out these two Nashville-based producers individual work as their organically inspired sound continues to grow.

El Ay – Elstrumentals

Manchester based producer El Ay comes through with this magnificent body of work. Yeah the title is a bit too obvious but the content she crafted is PURE GOLD. Layers and layers of soulful chops, loops over head nodding drum patterns makes this an excellent listening choice.
