Time & Lepp vocally proclaim their commanding stance on the mic with this hard hitting lyrical vitriol of a track aptly titled “Leave The Mic Alone”. Kicking it off with a Queen Latifah snippet from the classic movie Juice, the duo lunge forward and no quarter is given here . Like the late Big L said “Don’t touch the mic if you’re unable to spit”.

Hit the play button and get with the program real quick.

“The shit is totally sloppy, only a fool would open up the way you do”, sampling a brutally honest Queen Latifah from the 1992 film Juice. The hip-hop duo Time & Lepp introduce their new single, “Leave the Mic Alone”, filled with jazzy soulful music samples along with an angry Queen Latifah asking whose next to come and audition. That is when Lepp enters onto the microphone expressing how him and his partner in rhymes, Time, are running the show and that much of their competition “falls off, like Paul Wall sitting sideways”. As if it was like the new single was burning up the charts, Time sprays off like a fire extinguisher announcing that “the top 5 rappers need to evacuate…Time laughs, time will lap, already lapped a race”. Concluding that at the end, Time & Lepp will end up on top of the pile of starving emcees.

The duo makes it clear that they won’t be “abandoning booths” and that “rap is all [they] have” on a chopped Motown hip-hop sounding production produced by Leominster, Massachusetts producer iLLa Truth. A classic combination like bread and butter with Lepp’s précised well pronounced flows and Times quick slick rhyme saying; the duo sparks a strong energy with their chemistry warning any amateur emcees that they are the “Illest on the microphone [and to] Leave the Mic Alone”.
