As the countdown to their new album trails on, The Winston Brothers break out of the gate with another stunning jam titled “Drummer XXX.” This continues the band’s slew of retro funk releases and raises it a notch with the help of Max Weissenfeldt of Poets Of Rhythm. The result is a boisterous ensemble piece comprising hard-hitting drums that sits right in the middle of 70s funk jams and modern Breakin’ competitions. From the layered textures, triumphant horn riffs and cinematic pads, the band pour every single artistic fibre into this jam, and I can assure you that it’s a certified banger.
Sweets is out November 6 via Colemine Records and is available to pre-order now.
