Welcome to TWIB’s Weekly Top 5 Videos. This is a segment where we will be looking at some exceptional visuals from various acts from around the globe. The music video format has been around for decades and through the 90s and 2000s, it has really taken flight from multi-million budget music videos, to mid to low-budget videos with exceptional features. In this section, we will not discriminate but rather highlight some of the creative visuals that pop up on our radar.

MEMBER$ONLY – “OLD FASHION”

MEMBER$ONLY go back in time with this entertaining visual for the song “OLD FASHION”. The track has a west coast bounce with its smooth funky synths and groove which works perfectly for some good old bravado raps. The visual starts off with a game of Uno between 2 old geezers and witches to a summer-tinged scene with MEMBER$ONLY doing what he knows best.

ATlas BLK – “The Mountain”

ATlas BLK shares the visuals for his song  “The Mountain”, a gritty track that is ripe with aspiration and bravado elements. ATlas BLK delivers a solid performance with his commanding flow and tough persona. The visual is cinematic and makes use of several performance shots of the rapper in different spots. I dig the simplicity and moody aesthetics as well. A solid one for sure.

Akira Gautama “Temperance”

Akira Gautama showcases his versatility in “Temperance”, a lyrical dense track ripe with his melodic flow and bravado mentality. Over the self-produced bouncy trap backdrop, he steps up to bat with a plethora of flows that are quite catchy and even leaves a mellow hook portion for listeners to vibe to. The visual concept captures his performance raped in front of different backdrops and also employs subtle effects for smooth transitions.

GEEK – “U.F.O.”

GEEK caught our attention with his sci-fi rap in his new song “U.F.O.”. The Ozzy Beats produced track is made up of heavy synths and somewhat dark textures with punchy drums to match. GEEK on the other hand is in his element and flexes his verbal muscles with a handful of wittiness and wordplay reminding us that he is not one from this Earth. The visual is entertaining as well and sees GEEK and an alien friend in the woods scavenging for the fun of it.

” U.F.O” is the second single off of the upcoming GEEK 2 REVENGE OF THE GEEKS album.

Phenomeinal – “Just Listen”

Phenomeinal helps close the playlist with this insightful and introspective tune titled “Just Listen“. Over a soulful backdrop, he proceeds to deliver a blend of thoughtful bars with a healthy dose of braggadocio to boot. He shows us his humble beginnings and the arduous journey he undertook to get to where he is now. The visual is a one-take film that follows the NY emcee through Rochester, New York(Upstate), and slowly pans out to show viewers more scenery.
