Multi-talented artist PAX the humanoid brings together traditional rap with modern electronic and contemporary pop with an insightful theme on his new single “Chasing Dragons.” The production pays homage to classic Euro-electronic pop sounds with a modern musical twist. Bringing together a handful of musician friends ranging from singer Nikki van Zon whose sultry melodies add flavour to PAX’s commanding performance, while Surinamese Dutch guitarist/songwriter  Gerson Main, adds touches to the lyrics and the lively guitar riffs on the chorus section.  To close it out, we have Niels Broos on the bassline, which stays prominent throughout the track.

The track’s title is a nod to the 80s slang associated with the use of certain psychoactive substances, and finds PAX repurposing it. Here, he likens it to the much needed break from the norm and finding thrills to help us escape adulthood and obligations that keep us tied up. Lines like

Can’t change by doing the same things
so I ain’t phased by leaving the main lanes.
Find a road or build it in the wilderness.
From now on I want life to feel like this.

Underline his approach to making the best out of life and not getting cornered by the mounting pressures.
