Welcome to TWIB’s Weekly Top 10 Videos. This is a segment where we look at some exceptional visuals from various acts around the globe. The music video format has been around for decades, through the 90s and 2000s, it has taken flight from multi-million budget music videos, to mid to low-budget videos with exceptional features. In this section, we will not discriminate but highlight some creative visuals that pop up on our radar.
Again, we promise to bring you the best from high to low budget, to animated to DIY and first and foremost, the most creative visuals we can source.

Nappy Nina – “Groundhog Day”.
Oakland-born, Brooklyn-based rapper/songwriter/producer Nappy Nina releases the visuals for her song “Groundhog Day.” The insightful track comprises jazzy vibes with warm tones underpinned by poignant lyrics that dive into the never-ending search for one’s true purpose as the world revolves. The accompanying visual uses several over the top animation and effects as a motif and taps into the song’s theme.
Coyote Reverie – “Thistledown”
Genre-bending duo Coyote Reverie share visuals for their song “Thistledown.” The production has a warm bluesy vibe and comprises alluring melodic runs with introspective raps that blend like peas in a pod. The visual is somewhat weird and psychedelic in style. Coyote Reverie is a musical duo comprising singer/songwriter Meadow Eliz and producer/emcee Stresselbee.
Akon – “Akon’s Beautiful Day”
Global superstar singer/songwriter Akon drops the visuals for his new song “Akon’s Beautiful Day.” The song is inspired by the viral video of a young Jamaican artist Jermaine Edwards singing in his classroom and now Akon has delivered his version. The uplifting track aims to motivate listeners and bring some light and hope into their lives with its positive and morale-boosting lyrics and catchy melodies. The visual style is cinematic and scenic with a focus of several landscapes and performance shots of Akon.
Dax – “Lonely Dirt Road”
The hardworking singer/songwriter Dax returns with “Lonely Dirt Road,” a heartfelt tune that explores the dynamics of mental health and inner peace. The visual follows him as he finds an outlet to clear his thoughts by taking a long drive through the sticks.
Xzibit- “Play This At My Funeral”
Legendary Westcoast rapper/songwriter Xzibit breaks his long musical hiatus with his latest single “Play This At My Funeral.” The reflective tune comprises punchy drums, solemn piano chords and rich guitar licks underpinned by heartfelt lyrics that detail his life thus far and the experiences that shaped him. It feels like a return to form for the emcee as he confidently steps into his role as a time-tested lyricist with an incredible story backed up by successes and losses. The visual starts with Xzibit in a coffee shop before stepping out into a dystopian world where he has to brave the elements to survive.
“Play This At My Funeral” is taken from his forthcoming album, KINGMAKER, due for release in 2025 via Conor McGregor‘s Greenback Records.
Quiz – “The Conversation”
Emerging rapper/songwriter Quiz helps close the playlist on a reflective note with his single “The Conversation.” As the title suggests, the rapper goes deep into his mind to share his thoughts on life, his experiences and how listeners can relate to them. The visual has a sunny and summery vibe and gives viewers a glimpse into Quiz’s current state, which is clarity.
The track is taken from his album Grateful.
