Toronto-based music collective Takes a Village Music has created a self-sustaining platform and outlet for burgeoning acts since its inception in the heart of Toronto’s Chinatown. They have expanded beyond catering to Asian artists and created an all-inclusive ecosystem that houses creatives from different backgrounds.

Their latest release, “With God,” is a heartfelt and reflective single featuring rappers/songwriters LOWERCASE and SELF. The track has a warm lofi/soul feel that sets the tone for the insightful theme. Here, the emcees explore feelings of self-doubt, uncertainty and the power of self-belief and ambition. Lines like  “taking leaps of faith/Cus i survived my every fall/Keep that doubt to yaself/We gon only prove em wrong/It’s wrong crowd/We gon stay down” underpin the resilience and dogged mindset that brings success.
