You can call it a comeback. Sum-01 sure does. And she isn’t playing any games. She takes aim at the sexism that is blatant in hip-hop in her latest video, “The Comeback Kid.”

Featuring some of the local hip-hop scene, the men are relegated to background in this video. The dancers shown are part of the breakdancing crew, Ill at Will.

The video harkens back to the era when Sum-01 started rapping. It looks like it could have aired on Much Music back when it was still a music video channel. Adam Knapper directed it and DJ Hullewud did some additional editing to give it that vibe.
