This video is probably my introduction to who Stichiz is and her music. Hailing from Ottawa, Canada, Stichiz gives us a blend of that hip hop soul vibe with It’s Really Love and it is quite a smooth record. From the horns to the groovy bass line and the chords, the record delivers a love message that isn’t cheesy but smooth whilst ensuring the head nod is in effect for the hard listeners. The duo of Floetry and Estelle in her starting days come to mind as I listen to this young lady. The video has that communal feel to it and although it is a simple visual, it doesn’t come across as cheap. I am surprised that Stichiz and Teck-Zilla have not hooked up to put out records together. The sound I hear in this is just right up the producers alley and since they both represent in the same country, it should be a no-brainer. Anyhow, smash the play button and get jiggy with it.
