Sm^th is a producer from the midwest, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, influenced by the likes of the late, great, J Dilla, Madlib, Portishead, Flying Lotus, Bibio, Edan, and Broadcast (to name a few), whose music is comprised of dusty samples and drum loops. The name Sm^th is a reaction to the current climate of music where personality often trumps (pun) the actual work. The new album/beat tape, fall/loops is music made for October and November. The sound is meant to be comfortable, warm, and contemplative. It’s a soundtrack to walking in the leaves while wearing a cable knit sweater, drinking chai tea, and slowing down.
