Sly Rankin‘s latest release “Deliverance” is a seamless blend of insightful and bravado lyrics that give listeners a glimpse of life and then some. The production used here is pretty solemn and somewhat dark which serves as the perfect sonic canvas for Sly’s laidback flow and graphic rhyme schemes such as “And I still got the drip like my bladder don’t work/Although I jumped  on the mission without a pot to piss in/And every flow I dropped I killed it, my style post-apocalyptic“. In the chorus, he switches into a sing-songy performance that sees him pleading to the lord above to give him respite from the pain he is feeling.
