VA artist Sheik Kargbo makes his mark with his introspective and cinematic new video for “New Neighbors,” the latest single off his highly anticipated album, The Speakeasy Experience.
Directed by Aye Waiter, the visuals portray Kargbo in his element as he makes his way through his stomping grounds. And that includes spending time alone to gather his thoughts in addition to a laid-back party where he winds down with his crew (and plenty of vices). It all perfectly captures the moodiness of “New Neighbors,” a track that’s equal parts raw bravado and wise contemplation.
Where the single also shines is in its showcasing of Kargbo’s talents behind the boards. His approach to production on here splits the difference between an ethereal soundscape and hard-hitting Hip-Hop. It makes for an enrapturing listen, with guest vocalist Mariam adding a strong touch of soul on the chorus.
