Sharky (AKA Georgia Mason) makes her entry on our site with her unique style of soulful sounds. She started singing under her government name and collaborated with like-minded artists such as  Speakman SoundFranc Moody, and LONO. Her latest foray as Sharky sees her working with producer/husband Todd Speakman (Speakman Sound, LONO) and the song “Night On My Mind” expertly showcases her off-kilter style to the fullest. The production is part funky, soulful, and experimental while her lush, honeyed vocals take precedence alongside her abstract writing. Todd crafts a layered soundscape made up of horns, warped-out guitars, and saxophone from Alex White (Fat White Family) and also employs Sharky’s distinctive vocal runs as an instrument to complete the mission. The song is inspired by a dream she had; walking through and exploring an unfamiliar house, before laying on the carpet in one of the rooms.

“Night On My Mind” is taken from Sharky’s project People Are Strange, whose title takes its name from a photograph Sharky took in Paris when she was 18 and the subsequent dream she had about revisiting this place.
