If you claim to be a head and you don’t know this man Sadat X then you should renounce your rights to hip hop as you have committed what is none other than sacrilege. He’ss one third of the group Bran Nubian and that is more than enough resume for him even though he has held his own as a solo artist too. Of course, we are aware of his runnings with the law and a few label issues but through it all, Sadat has continued to represent the real hip hop. It is that fire he carries across to this tune here telling you all and schooling all and sundry about the hip hop game.  No sacred cows on this one as Sadat X calls out the labels and promoters letting them know he knows how the game goes. Sadat keeps the music easy and simple but doesn’t necessarily simplify the rhymes which I like; you can tell he is a veteran from his delivery and how he controls the beat. The striking thing about the video for me is the subtitling of practically every word he spits. Sadat definitely wants to pass a message across and he concludes by saying ‘do the show…get the dough…and go.’ What more can I say, I know this game.
