All month long, the Red Bull Music Academy is in New York for their inaugural festival. They’re presenting live performances from various acts, documentary screenings, event nights, and lots more. Speaking of documentaries, they’re launching a brand new series paying homage to a number of New York City anthems and the drum machines that played a huge part in them, called beat:repeat NYC.

Over the course of eight episodes throughout the month of May, beat:repeat NYC will showcase disco, hiphop, thrash metal, dance punk, and more. The folks that are shown in this series will include Black Moon’s DJ Evil Dee, Blondie’s Chris Stein, hiphop pioneer’s Arthur Baker, LeTigre’s Johanna Fateman, and Ninja Tune’s Lee Bannon.

Check out what to expect above.
