I remember when Little Brother broke up, it felt like a bad dream but I quickly faced reality that some things were maybe supposed to be as is. I mean I could go on and name legendary groups that disbanded and never got back together but I won’t. The only analogy I will make here is if little brother was New Edition, Big Rapper Pooh could be BBD. Synonymously they were the other guys in the group until they broke out of the mould.

Even though Big pooh dropped the aptly titled debut album Sleepers while LB were still together, he actually never got the recognition he deserved and I must confess, it really took me a while to get acquainted to said album. This is 2013, many things have changed and Big Pooh returns with this soulful gem ‘Don’t Change’ to remind us that while Little Brother is definitely not coming back, he however is here to stay. Quite frankly, a common thread is fans will always refer to your old work while you are on the other hand trying to create something new which in some ways can be of disservice to the artist in question.

My two cents is maybe we should just let the past be the past and bask in the present and enjoy the sonic blessings from this man.

Get with the program.
