“Jazz Man” is the third single from rapper/producer duo Noah23 and Fresh Kils, who team up with Trumpeter Peter Scherzinger. The track’s title speaks for itself as it bridges the improv aesthetics of Jazz and the expressiveness of 90s underground rap with experimental vibes. The production has a scenic and retro-tinged feel reminiscent of acts like Digable Planets, Us3, and Gangstarr and finds emcee Noah23 reflecting on life and music with lines like
“Dropping acid everyday when I was a little kid
Roach clip dope shit, thrown in a predicament
No shit broski, know that I be spitting shit
Really in the mix like primordial soup
They be talking mad shit but I know it ain’t true”
The duo are currently preparing to release their forthcoming collaborative album, Tuff Racket.
