Over the weekend, Ali Shaheed Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest and Maseo of De La Soul lectured about their considerable experience as artists in the hip hop industry.  Both Ali and Maseo were the respective DJs and producers for their groups during what hip hop heads often refer to as the “Golden” era of hip hop but have gone on to continued success.

The touring Red Bull Music Academy is based out of NYC but, as it’s a touring association, they spoke in LA. Not gonna lie, I don’t drink Red Bull and I don’t understand the phenomenon behind Red Bull’s popularity but they do a great job with non-energy drink-related ventures.
