It’s no wonder MF DOOM DOOM chose to trademark himself with a face mask. How else would the dude be able to cover the fact he sends DOOMpostors to his shows on a regular basis?
Last Saturday (August 25th), UK-born emcee Daniel Dumile (aka DOOM) was scheduled to appear and perform at Livin’ DOOM, a party specifically thrown to celebrate the rapper’s musical legacy. British DJ Collective Livin’ Proof organized the event, set at a small, intimate venue in London. Only, DOOM chose to skip out and allegedly sent a masked impostor to take his place on stage instead. What’s worse, DOOM has a chronic history of both canceling shows last minute and sending masked imitators on his behalf, so sadly DOOM/Madvillian/Danger Doom fans weren’t entirely surprised. Personally, I would be real heated after paying money for an event honoring an underground emcee in his own hometown and he actually sends a fraud?! Wow. SMH..
Livin’ Proof released a lengthy statement sharing their own skepticism and disappointment:
