Montreal-based music producer Mezraa teams up with singer/songwriter jjad for this sublime and soulful record titled “Subtle Games”. The production has a warm and moody vibe with its lush pads, soft drum grooves and rich guitar riffs and sound design. jjad on the other hand totally gives it a whole new life with his lilting melodic runs and commanding performance. he reflects on the many games we all play when it comes to forming romantic bonds and it’s quite relatable and candid as well.

Straight out of Montreal’s underground dance scene, Antoine Desrosiers—better known as Mezraa—is a music producer who creates a soundscape singular to himself. And by melding Madlib and J Dilla vibes to UK trip hop atmospherics, like Massive Attack, Mezraa carefully threads together an organic and cinematic sound.
