New Zealand hip-hop act Melodownz takes us deep into his world on the insightful and thought-provoking single titled “Money.”  Armed with a penchant for penning vivid lyrics laced with real-time issues, the Avondale-based rapper delivers an honest, undiluted perspective on this ever-lasting race to make money. Backed by the somber and somewhat brooding production courtesy of DJ Khalil whose cinematic textures help add the perfect sonics to Melodownz’ reflective lyrics.

The music video for “Money” is very gritty and cinematic. It really captures the nitty-gritty of the life of individuals stuck in the doldrums trying to make their way out by any means necessary. It is directed by close collaborator, Auckland-based director Conner Pritchard.

His recent endeavors include HIGH BEAMS a collaborative project with IllBaz and Raiza Biza. He also just wrapped up a tour with local heroes SWIDT and is booked to support Oddisse in November, before hitting the festival circuit over the summer.
