Rising Irish rapper Malaki pays homage to the legendary Irish singer Van Morrison on his own version of the song “Someone Like You.” The track came about when he was asked to contribute to the legend’s 75th birthday on August 31st.
The track sees Malaki teaming up with producer/singer Matthew Harris who crafts a solemn backdrop peppered with Van Morrison’s vocals. Malaki sure comes through with a very reflective tale of heartbreak and yearning. The track s brimming with emotions and nostalgia as well as honest lyrics such as “Heaven sent so I said to you but then again who would have thought I’d meet someone/ someone like you”
He sure brings whole new energy to the classic song with a very honest approach.
