Amsterdam-based artist Mar Omin grew up around music from a young age and he burst on the scene with his distinct genre-bending music. Formally known as Mar, he has fostered a new identity which fully embodies his roots in his new single “No Goodbye”. The solemn guitar-driven soundscape is as dynamic as they come and sees Mar in his element as he delivers a soothing and layered vocal run that rises to a plateau as the song progresses. His lyrics are insightful nd candid as he details his true feelings on loss, love and being lovelorn for reciprocity. The record was inspired by Mar’s personal loss and he uses it to pen a heartfelt track that listeners can relate to.

“No Goodbye” is taken from the forthcoming album Extricate which is about Mar Omin’s discovery of how trapped he had been in negative self-belief, toxic relationships and freeing himself from them. Thematically, the album is described as “to free (someone or something) from a constraint or difficulty.”

Mar Omin produced, composed, and wrote the album with help from guitarist Daniel Malet, singer Szjerdene (Bonobo / Lapalux), and cello and strings by Sander Molder (Red Bull Music Academy alumni). Mar set out to make an album of 10-songs that reflect his mental health journey over the past three years. In 2018, he began writing in a daily journal and discovered many things about his beliefs of the world, his relationships with himself and with others, and how he has accepted them as truth.
