Montreal has proven to be that habitat where uber talented artists can dwell, develop and ultimately showcase their respective talents to the immediate environment and probably beyond if given the chance. In my opinion, the Montreal scene (hip-hop especially) is like a planet of its own, self contained, fully functional and ALIVE (I dare emphasize) and yet somewhat underrated but let’s not go into that at this junction.

L.E.S‘s full length project ‘The Genesis‘ is out now, a 12 track body of work that features SRH, DJ Crowd, Full Course, vocalist Fredy V amongst other acts. The project plays like an autobiography of some sorts, L.E.S gives his all, bares his heart and soul on the tracks and doesn’t hold back one bit. I may sound a bit biased towards this project but in reality it’s just hard to deny the undeniable. I totally recommend The Genesis for everyone out there.

In 2013, Montreal based artist L.E.S.’ highlights included opening for legendary acts Method Man, Masta Ace, performing at the world renowned Montreal Jazz Festival and Under Pressure – The International Graffiti Convention. In limited release, The Genesis peeked at #1 on CJLO Hip Hop chart and #2 on the overall top 30 as published by the National Campus and Community Radio Association. In early 2014, L.E.S. officially released The Genesis to the public and is planning more visual content and performances in support of the album… Stay tuned.
