I am not usually a fan of sentimental Hip Hop. I think it’s too easy to come across as pretentious, but maybe that’s just me. However, in Karamel Kel’s album Heavenly Dream he hits the spot perfectly; washy drums and melodic harmonies, topped off with rich bass for that extra texture. It is his first LP for Roots Of Society Records, and judging from this compilation and their releases, they are definitely one to keep tabs on.
