Who else in indie southern hip hop can move so fluidly between verses with r&b and rap? Not too many can do it well, but Jelly Roll has that addictive milky effect on his verse-hook combos on his new track, “Bottle and Mary Jane,” making his big, bad country singing a signature sound. The Nashville rapper, who is known for his ties to the Strange Music Inc. crew, shows off his raspy vocals on what appears to be a video filmed during the Corona pandemic. Moody lighting and a pensive Jelly Roll got us deep in the feels with this one. Watch below:
