Nigerian Rapper and Producer, Illwill drops another series of his beattape  Symptoms of illness which comes as SOIL 4. Yes, this is the fourth installment but sixth in his beattape catalogue. According to the man himself, ‘This is a 14 track mix mash of beat genres based on a Hiphop foundation celebrating 14 years in the music/production industry.’ So you know the man has been around for a bit and has definitely been in the thick of things as well. Going by the eclectic flow of the music from boom bap to crunk even to the Afrobeat inspired Fool at 40, you get a taste of where hip hop is at and where it’s been to the next phase of the genre. I guess you could say Illwill is somewhat celebrating hip hop from his perspective.
