Oakland, CA-based rapper Ian Kelly delivers a reflective and bravado-laden single “Long Way From Home” which digs deep into his journey as an artist in the game. Over Hitmakerdot‘s lively soulful backdrop, he delivers a solid impassioned performance ripe with vivid and evocative lyrics that break down his life story in snapshots.

The visual is filmed by Noblphotos who help capture the young rapper’s fiery style and performance.

Hailing from Oakland, CA, Ian Kelly is known for his smooth and fluid sound that fits right in with the soulful intentions of Jamla Records, whom he’s been officially signed since 2018, as a result of his hardworking efforts in previous and future promising releases. Kelly’s time at Jamla has placed him in the midst of some of hip-hop’s greatest talents; he has earned his unique place as the ill vocalist of Jamla among acts like 9th Wonder, Rapsody, GQ, and tight production unit The Soul Council. Ian Kelly can be heard on the Jamla Records compilation album, ‘Jamla Is the Squad II’, in which he appears on two songs: ‘Welcome to JamRoc’ & ‘Do Something’. He also was the sole featured artist on 9th Wonder’s 2020 release ‘Zion V: Ballad of Charles Douthit’ paving the way for his latest project ‘Kells is D.E.A.D.’ ‘Kells is D.E.A.D’ received strong feedback, with the official video for his single ‘Soul Of A Man’ receiving notable industry co-signs, and the song getting a placement on the official soundtrack for EA Sports Madden 22. His follow up video for the intro track ‘Misunderstood’ premiered on BET Jams, which was shortly followed by his original track ‘Keep it Player’ off Hulu’s Original Documentary ‘HOMEROOM’.
