So many things made this a no brainer to check out, and I’m glad I did. I collect film scores and listen to them often, yet the thought of crossing this one into hip-hop never occurred as a dope thought. Emcee, producer and Low Budget crew member Kaimbr on the other hand did, presenting a beat tape inspired by the Karate Kid movies, sampling from the great score by Bill Conti and world-renowned pan pipist Gheorghe Zamfir…
The tracks are highly nostalgic for those who know, yet have enough integrity for those without prior knowledge of the source material to vibe with. I always have mad respect for artists when they drop innovative and personal joints like this. Enjoy the music, and keep supporting the innovation.
