This is not the first time you have come across the name Five Steez on this platform, and that is because the brother stays working hard to serve from delicious and quality hip hop material at will. The Kingston, Jamaica bred emcee has gone on to collaborate with a French beat miner who goes by the name J-Zen to create a 4 track EP titled Pantone as an avenue to keep serving up more music for your listening pleasure. There is no doubt and no gainsaying that hip hop is a worldwide staple now hence the connection that links and bonds two strangers to a common cause. Pantone opens with the track Spesh FX, featuring Nomad Carlos, a fellow MC of Five Steez in the four-member collective The Council. The party starts with What’s Your Vibe? – a funky cut with an infectious groove and melody put together by J-Zen. Steez then takes a couple minutes to assert himself over any competition on No Debate. The final song, We Can Never Know, explores life’s uncertainty, with Five Steez opening up in his first verse about friend and collaborator France Nooks, who passed in February 2018. Pantone is the second material from Five Steez following his earlier release in February with producer Mordecai titled HeatRockz.
