Virginia based artist Falasha Uhuru links with producer Trot for compelling new single and video, “When They Gentrify.”

Over classic boom-bap production with heightened tones, Uhuru delivers a powerful track set to revolutionize and educate communities. Through conscious lyricism and hard-knock truths, he describes a new world order brimming with foreign occupation and economic evasion. “They told the homeless bums leave the curb, Starbucks coming your kind they don’t serve.”

Uhuru goes on to drop unappraised jewels shedding light on hidden agendas, bulldozer destruction, and pain only felt in the hood; “treasures turned to tragedy.”  Watch “When They Gentrify” above and connect with Falasha Uhuru on Instagram @FalashaUhuru.
