DJ Premier To Produce Album For Loaded Lux

Legendary producer and turntablist DJ Premier has announced on Rap Is Outta Control that he’s to produce an album for battle MC-cum-recording-artist Loaded Lux. It comes after Lux shone when he featured in Premo’s Bars In The Booth series, and caps a remarkable rise for the Harlem native, who shot to mainsteam attention after his bodybag of Calicoe and is one of a few battle MCs who can demonstrate a competency in the booth as well as on stage. This is gonna be one of the fans of that hard-hitting, heavyweight issued boom-bap. I’m a fan of this collaboration, because I feel Lux doesn’t work so well over those trappy beats he seems to record on.

Loaded Lux has a new album out called Beloved 2, which is due pretty soon.
