Helsinki-based artist Dea Juris aka Dear Dea unveils her new single “Papi” and new EP When You Go Home Again. The track is a heartfelt and reflective tune about love, loss and coming to terms with one’s lot in life. Backed by warm chords, sublime textures and soft drum grooves, Dear Dea delivers an electrifying performance ripe with earworm melodies and a touching story that everyone can relate to.
The song is lifted from her new EP When You Go Home Again, a 6 song project that underscores her multicultural roots, and her love for jazz, reggaeton and Latin music which informed her during the writing of the EP. The project is her first since returning to her home country of Finland after spending a decade in New York City and sees her embodying her new life and letting go of the past.
Besides making music, she teaches vocals and band at the Pop & Jazz Konservatorio and since completing When You Go Home Again, Dear Dea has continued to write, attending songwriting courses with the LA-based School of Song hosted by Kimbra and Adrianne Lenker, and is beginning to piece together a new album.
