Wow, February has been a month full of Dilla-related things.. and now we’re in March and there’s more Dilla-produced music from De La Soul? Wow, time to take a deep breath and inhale it all in! So, with that being said, listen to first track off the mixtape, Smell The D.A.I.S.Y. which is scheduled for release later this year. The songs on this mixtape are entirely produced by J Dilla.

Besides Smell The D.A.I.S.Y., De La have plans to release a couple projects this year, starting this summer with their new album titled Your Welcome. This album will be their first project since The Grind Date, which was released a decade ago. The other project will be a six-track EP called Premium Soul On The Rocks which includes three produced tracks from both DJ Premier and Pete Rock.

It’s definitely a refreshing feeling to know that the legendary trio is back together in full effect to release some new music this year. And in case you didn’t know, this past Monday marked the 25th anniversary of their seminal debut album, 3 Feet High And Rising. So hopefully, you guys have picked up their entire catalog which included that album because if not, then you have lost your opportunity to have them in your possession for free.

The reason? According to Rolling Stone, Posdnous said that it has been ‘a trying journey’ to get all of their early stuff on various digital platforms. “We’ve been blessed to be in the Library of Congress, but we can’t even have our music on iTunes. We’ve been working very hard to get that solved,” says Posdnous.
