The Red Bull Music Academy World Tour announced it will makes two stops in the States. On Monday, Sept. 12, the week-long festivities start in Detroit. The Detroit stop focuses on Detroit’s musical history (Motown, Garage-Rock, Techno, etc.) but the second stop in New York City is called, “Five Days. Five Boroughs. Five Classic Albums.”, is the kind of concert that makes WIB readers drool/foam at the mouth/momentarily black out.

From Sept. 25 to Sept. 30 each of the five boroughs will host a discussion-slash-concert commemorating, honoring and featuring an artist native to its borough. As far as I’m concerned, everyone should know who Staten Island’s artists will be. (For those who don’t, it’s Wu-Tang Clan.) The Bronx’s own Slick Rick will perform his “The Great Adventures Of…” album; Brooklyn’s Black Moon will do “Enta The Stage” and Big Daddy Kane will perform as well; Mobb Deep (Queens) are performing “The Infamous”; and The Diplomats (Manhattan) will do “Diplomatic Immunity”.
