Myka 9, one of the founding members of Freestyle Fellowship, is dropping a solo LP. The album, “Mykology”, will be released on Oct. 3. Also, Freestyle Fellowship are reuniting for the first time in over a decade to make “The Promise”. A definitive date for “The Promise” has not been announced but as soon as the WIB finds out, we’ll post it.

Freestyle Fellowship’s last album, “Temptations”, came out in 2001, eight years after their first album, “Innercity Griots”. The group, comprised of Aceyalone, P.E.A.C.E., Self Jupiter, J Sumbi and Myka 9, are from Los Angeles and considered influential to West Coast hip hop.
