Toronto-based singer/songwriter Jhyve returns with his new single “Hi Skool”, a midtempo track that sees him confronting a cheating partner. The guitar-laden production is crisp, and soulful and serves as a perfect canvas for Jhyve’s unapologetic lyrics and smooth melodic runs. The verses are delivered with a laidback but emotive demeanour as he reminds the ex that she is better off in the streets and there is no more future within his space.

Jhyve’s been a hidden gem in Toronto’s R&B scene as far back at 2011, but by 2018, he’d landed several songs on Spotify’s Canada Viral Top 50 playlist, opened for international acts like Jessie Reyez, and received a JUNO Award nomination for his last EP, Conversations.
