Legendary DJ Rob Swift takes Bobby J From Rockaway and Daru Jones’s “Take It Personal” and gives it a whole new mood. He makes use of Bobby J’s vocals and blends it with DJ Premier’s production on the original “Take It Personal.”
In true turntablism fashion, Rob Swift goes beyond just beatmatching vocals with the instrumental and throws in more than a handful of tricks from his infinite gauntlet. He makes use of vocal phrases to finish off Bobby J’s words and then some. Morphing it into a classic mix reminiscent of the days of actual mixtapes where DJ’s mixed original vocals with classic beats.
Check out the remix now which can be streamed exclusively through either Audiomack or SoundCloud. One Mic & Drum is available now on vinyl and through all major digital retailers and streaming platforms through Daru’s Rusic Records imprint via Fat Beats.
Stream One Mic & Drum on Bandcamp and cop the vinyl via Soulspazm.
