A release from back in August from Californian music producer Kankick. 14 tracks brimming with personality, Rummage To Royalty has undeniably some of the best instrumental tracks I’ve heard this year.
A high school friend of Madlib, Kankick began his musical career alongside the soon-to-be iconic producer, and together they were a part of Lootpack. Diverging on separate paths, Kankick released a steady body of acclaimed work however his profile remained low (I believe he has only ever done one interview) making him one of those dudes among the elusive, mystic ranks of hip-hop’s most under-appreciated producers.
