alphabets gives us dead//beat til i die, an ambient release very much conceived in the abstract LA beat scene – something that is taking the principles of hip-hop to entirely new levels, and is a scene I’m an admirer of and follow intensely. Sparse textures are occasionally interrupted by harmonies, with a constant stream of mellow sound underlying the whole thing.
