It’s about time Word Is Bond got around to showing some love to this release; Conneticut raised, Cologne based Akua Naru‘s debut album The Journey Aflame, released earlier this year.

Akua weaves her impeccable flow through a tapestry of social and cultural awareness and empowerment, parables of love, and straight party jams with an underlying outlook appreciative to life and understanding of how the past can influence and inform the present.

The positivity is exemplified by the uplifting production that at times becomes truly stirring in evoking the universal themes on the albums deeper tracks.  A solid entrance by an artist who has a lot of love and wisdom to spread.
