I came across SympL many weeks ago via instagram. I wasn’t even searching for music or anything so you could say this  was pure happenstance and we both chopped it up. As always, things or should I say life has a way of throwing a monkey wrench between your wheels but I knew I had to get this out there for y’all to listen to.

Not much may be known about the man himself but his resume is pretty amazing not to talk of his music which I would call a blend/fusion of genres.  On this effort he and Mr Dash create a 7 piece offering aptly titled ‘Truth, Love and Hunger’ , far from pop/gloss laden hooks and beats but a journey through the mind of a poet(I mean a real poet in every sense of the word). From the energetic hard hitting “What You Are told” and “Inspiration” to the mellow vibes on “Another Level”.

This effort definitely has something for all to feel and again better late than never, get with the program.

No matter the style, sympL has brought his mastery of language and the undeniable passion of a restless poet to the stage, studio, and street corner for over 15 years. An underground media mogul, he has been a tireless promoter, published author, and celebrated performer – sharing the stage with legends such as Del the Funky Homosapien, Das EFX, The Artifacts, Souls of Mischief, Nappy Roots, Cypress Hill, The Jungle Brothers, Jurassic 5’s Chali 2na and Akil the MC, and Wu-Tang’s Cappadonna.
