Welcome to TWIB’s Weekly Top 10 Videos. This is a segment where we look at some exceptional visuals from various acts around the globe. The music video format has been around for decades, through the 90s and 2000s, and it has taken flight from multi-million dollar budget music videos to mid to low-budget videos with exceptional features. In this section, we will not discriminate but highlight some creative visuals that pop up on our radar.
Again, we promise to bring you the best from high to low budget, to animated to DIY and first and foremost, the most creative visuals we can source.

Thirstin Howl The 3rd – “Feet On The Gas” ft Rampage The Last Boy Scout (Flip Mode Squad)
Thirstin Howl The 3rd has his “Feet On The Gas” with fellow Brooklynite Rampage The Last Boy Scout (of Flip Mode Squad fame). The result is a hi-octane, energetic track produced by Zay Skillz that showcases raw unfiltered lyricism from these two heavyweights. The visuals were Directed by Stephen Box Lo Gonzalez and Thirstin Howl The 3rd and shot at NBA hall of famer Kevin Garnett’s Content Cartel Studios. The performance-driven visual alos features a host of cameos from DJ Muggs, Dwight Howard, Affion Crockett, Paul Pierce, Smooth B, King T, Psycho Les, Mellow Man Ace, Dana Dane, Young Hump and Caviar. This track appears on the new Thirstin Howl The 3rd LP, The Last Shall Be Thirst out now via Skillionaire Global Enterprises on digital and CD format.
Gabzy x Fireboy DML – “So Much Sense”
Rising UK-based Afrobeats/R&B star Gabzy teams up with Nigerian Afrobeats star Fireboy DML for his new summer jam titled “So Much Sense.” The track produced by AoD and The Elements. captures Gabzy’s laidback and expressive melodic flow and vivid songwriting that centres on the good times and vibrant summer house parties. The visual is more of a visualizerr that captures both Gabzy and Fireboy DML in the studio.
525 Devi – “Up!”.
Texas-based hip-hop artist 525 Devi shares the performance visual for his song “Up,” a bravao-laden track that is brimming with rich melodic runs and engaging lyrics that cements his status as a man on a mission. His melodic style is quite pronounced and how he paints verbal images is refreshing.
Miles Jenson – “Turn On A Dime”
Singer-songwriter Miles Jenson enters our visual playlist with his latest tune “Turn On A Dime.” The mellow ballad is a heartfelt piece that explores the dichotomy of maintaining a relationship while nurturing personal growth. The production brims with moody keys, solemn strings and sparse grooves underpinned by Miles Jenson’s expressive vocal style and insightful songwriting. The visualizer uses a dark and sullen set piece that shows Miles Jenson locked in a mental cage of some sort. Turn On A Dime” is taken from his 3-track debut EP, Sunshine Goldmine.
525 Devi – “Black Friday”
“Black Friday” is the second visual from Rio Grand Valley, Texas-based artist 525 Devi and it’s a mid-tempo jam that features fellow rapper RNB.FOEMOB. Together the duo deliver engaging performances ripe with vivid lyrics and bravado. The visuals is mostly performance based and captures both artists in their element and also surrounded by curvy ladies.
Loui$ Automatic – “The Warm Up”
Loui$ Automatic‘s “The Warm Up” is a summer R&B/hip-hop infused cut that showcases the rapper’s distinct style. Backed by the smooth soundscape with bouncy aesthetics, Loui$ Automatic steps up to the plate with no-holds-barred lyrics laced with confidence and bravado. The visuals shot by RxLex Productions helps bring the song to life with its summer-tinged set pieces and performance shots.
B.A Badd x Bub Styles – “Heart On My Sleeve”
B.A Badd and Bub Styles unveil the visuals for their song “Heart On My Sleeve.” The track is a cinematic and hard-hitting piece that breaks down the street codes and the never-say-die mentality of true go-getters. The visuals were shot by Gee (Chinatown Sound) who helps bring the song to life with engaging cut scenes, smooth transitions that capture the duo’s street savvy style.
Amaarae – “S.M.O”
Ghanaian-American singer Amaarae continues to break boundaries and conformity as she returns with her new single “S.M.O.” The electronic/afro-fusion tune is briming with rich high pitched vocals , sultry melodies and innuendo-filled lyrics. The visuals filmed in Ghana goes against the grain with a showcse and celebration of black bodies. It displays body builders of all genders and puts them in their element to shine bright. The track is a precurosr to her forthcoming album BLACK STAR.
Silent Funk +1 – “Can’t Ignore Us”
Silent Funk (composed of emcee Rhinoceros Funk and beat-maker Silent Someone) enter our playlist with their new release “Can’t Ignore Us.” The track has that classic 90s jazz-hip-hop infused sound reminiscent of US3 and the Jazzmatazz series and is ripe with expressive raps that bridges the old. Each emcee gets their turn to shine and they deliver the goods with raw, unfiltered bravado.
Now re-christened Silent Funk Plus 1 the group have welcomed scratch-master/graff legend DJ JS-1 as a full member.
Emerald Sun – “Callin’ Out”
Emerald Sun brings this week’s video playlist to a close with his new release “Callin’ Out.” The track is a blend of pop/dance and hiphop elements underpinned by insightful bars that pay homage to friends, families and the concept of togetherness. The visual is set in the studio and we see the rapper in his element doing his thing.
