Amsterdam-born singer/songwriter Noa Lauryn releases her new EP Always On Time, a 5 track project that blends retro Motown-inspired soul/R&B/jazz sounds with a unique modern twist. The project sees Noa Lauryn exploring themes of love from a. nostalgic viewpoint, the importance of self-love, societal pressures on working women and the never-ending cycle of adulthood.

The project kicks starts with the single “Wasting Time,” a soothing piece that reminds us that sometimes, doing nothing can do a lot for our mind, body and soul. Here, she revels in the comfort of basking in the moment instead of being stuck in the hamster wheel of daily obligations. Armed with her sublime and lilting vocal style, she delivers an uplifting piece that is much needed in today’s never-ending rat race. This is followed by the Felix Hien-assisted “Layers of Time,” a heartfelt and solemn tune with nostalgic vibes that details the need to break away from familiar patterns and change one’s course as love and time move on. Next is the groovy Jazz-soul banger “Please Don’t Make Me Choose” that celebrates true female empowerment and her taking back her autonomy and not what society dictates for her. On “Back When,” Lauryn goes down memory lane when things were simple and life was easy. Over the atmospheric soundscape comprising rich ethereal pads and slick guitar licks provided by Johnny Biner, she contemplates the early days of blossoming love and how these memories could pile up and serve as a link to the past in her old age. The final track, “Always On Time,” is a brilliant way to close out the project as Lauryn shows a different side of her personality. She adds, “I notoriously struggle with getting places on time. On the track I sing about the utopian situation if I were the type of person that was always on time and wouldn’t it be great for everyone involved?” Overall, the track is a playful, bubbly and positive tune that reminds us that she is human after all.

This release will be celebrated with a listening session in Amsterdam (TBA) and a release tour with her band, The Incredibles, heading to Hilversum, The Hague, Amsterdam & London (TBA).
