“Drippy” is the latest tune from rising South-London-based rapper XII 44 (pronounced 12:44/ twelve forty-four). The hard-hitting track is a collaboration with the East London-based grime veteran Griminal. Together they deliver a blend of celebratory/reflective with a dash of bravado to close out 2024. XII 44 wastes no time in letting listeners know his mission as he flows seamlessly over the bass-laden backdrop with lines like “I rep my city, what they talk ’bout/Laugh about it but they get it now/Plagiarism where they copy style/Hide your daughters when we stepping out.” before sharing his thoughts on the grind and his experiences that helped shape him into a go-getter. Griminal steps up to bat on the second verse and closes it out with his laidback but commanding flow ripe with charisma and a quick glimpse into his life as one of the pioneers in Grime.

The accompanying performance-driven visual focuses on XII 44 for the most part and also brings in throwback clips of Griminal reminding us of his antecedents.

Throughout his career, XII 44 has obtained notable achievements such as opening up for the likes of Snoop Dog at the Indigo O2 and Little Simz at the Round House, and also blessing the airwaves on Reprezent Radio, Hot 92 FM, On Top FM, Worldwide FM and more.
