UK duo share Geejay new heartfelt single “Mama, it’s OK to Cry” which dives into personal loss and pain. It was inspired by the changing relationship dynamics between vocalist Gee and her mother after her father died in 2017. Bolstered by a somber and highly soulful backdrop, Gee details how she had to stand strong and hold down the fort for her grieving mother.

Gee comments, ”I’ve never really spoken about my loss before. It’s still so hard to process, but I know I’m lucky that I can channel some of the pain through my music. The situation has also shown me that sometimes we need to be mindful and be there to provide emotional support for those who provided us emotional security in the past.”
