It’s been a minute since we heard from Phoenix, AZ-based rapper  RoQy TyRaiD (pronounced Rocky Tirade) but not to worry he is back in his element. he just announced that he will be releasing a series of brand new singles in summer. The first release from the series is the 70s Kung-fu blaxploitation influenced video for the aptly titled “Jim Kelly” track. Over a vintage 70s funk/soul backdrop, RoQy serves up a solid dose of polysyllabic ‘patterns’, internal rhymes and much more as he intends to dazzle the listeners with his high-density rhymes.

The visual brings the martial art aspect to life as RoQy plays a yellow gi rocking karate master who battles various scrupulous characters in the middle of downtown Phoenix. It’s pretty graphic and entertaining.

RoQy TyRaiD has played festivals such as A3C, SXSW, all the way to France’s Dooinit Festival and Amsterdam’s De Rauwe School.
