Common – War (prod. No I.D.)

To start off the promotion of the Chicago-tribute Nobody Smiling, Common takes the first shot by releasing the first single, called War. Produced by No I.D., you can hear Common spit dark tales of the Chicago streets over a slew of horns, giving the listeners a call to action. Give it a listen.

There’s a war going on inside no man is safe from
Or can escape from
Take one
War is from the same place to hate from
Gang wars used to be about the Nations
Now it’s clicks with clips
And hitters that’s missin’
They hit the innocent and now they families miss ’em
Death done kissed ’em
In his last breath he wishin’
But no options
So he assume position
It don’t stop
Hitters killin’ women and children
Angels cry
It’s supposed to be God’s decision
