Dom Kennedy recently dropped the video to ‘Locals Only’, a track featuring on his ‘From The Westside With Love’ album. The outcome is visually stunning. Shot by Brandon Dimmit and directed by Bryant Robinson, it’s hard not to to be mesmerised by the outcome of their work. Literally every aspect to this video fall in to the “That’s a nice touch” category; the french singer at the beginning, the font, the setting, the girl, the french subtitles. No disrespect to Kanye but it is videos like this that strike me as true art, as opposed to someone obviously trying overly hard to produce something ‘deep’ that comes across ‘symbolic’ and ‘arty’.
